A Day in the Lifestyle - March

Hello! Welcome to another beautiful day in our life.

Morning routine: Things are a little out-of-the-ordinary around here right now, as I'm sure most of you can relate to. The kids' schools are closed and Dan and I are not spending much time in the office, either. As such, I'm going to be honest, morning routine is not seeing much yoga, workouts, or meditation. I'll try to work these back in depending on how things go and how we feel.

This snapchat pic kind of summarizes things:

One thing I've added to my morning routine that I'll share with you quickly is homemade deodorant. I was super hesitant to use this. SO super hesitant. For starters, it's a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. That's fine for me because I don't sweat much, but if you do - know that this isn't going to stop you from sweating. And even though I don't sweat a lot, I still would prefer not to be gross. That being said, it's not good to stop your body from sweating, as it's an important way that we get rid of toxins. In addition, there are some concerns that the deodorants we buy in the stores may not be the best for our bodies. You can read more about that here. All I can really tell you is that this deodorant really works for me. I was obviously worried about not smelling so great, but so far, so good.

Then again, my (most likely toxic) perfume smells so good that maybe I'm not really noticing much.

Breakfast: The family is still stuck on these scrambled eggs. I'm going to try to get us out of this rut this week, so stay tuned.

Lunch: We went with heart-shaped grilled cheese sandwiches, grapes, and fresh green pepper strips. Again, having a toddler around the house really changes the way you view lunch.

Snacks: Bizi helped make these St. Patrick's Day Pistachio Cupcakes.

Supper: I made a big batch of Simple Everyday Chili. After we had eaten our fill, we divided the rest into serving-size containers and froze them. These make great lunches.

Evening Routine: Finished up the second load of laundry. Huge shout-out here to my washer for being able to handle our family. We have a Samsung top-loader and if you have a large family, I would highly suggest checking it out. There are a couple things that I would change, but overall, it serves us well and I would recommend it.

I considered meal-prep complete with the chili in the freezer, so I loaded the dishwasher (which I am not linking to because we seriously need a new one), washed the remaining dishes and snuggled in for some reading. I'm still reading The Girl Who Played with Fire. I love the story, but there are some scenes that are a little too much for me. I'm not much for graphic violence or sex. Just not my style. I read one chapter of Fifty Shades back in the day and seriously wanted to vomit. So I'll say that I'm mostly enjoying the book, definitely won't see the movie. (Is there a movie? I have no clue.)

And that's a wrap, loves. As always, thank you so much for sharing our beautiful day with us.
