Hamburger Gravy on Toast
Most of you probably know this by another name, especially if it's made with chipped beef. But I didn't have any chipped beef and this is what we wanted for dinner. So I made it like this.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1/4 c. flour
- 2 c. milk
- 2 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
- sliced bread, for toast
Brown your hamburger in a large skillet. Do not drain!
When the hamburger is browned, sprinkle the flour over it and stir. Then add your water and milk.
Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until thickened into gravy. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Toast bread slices and cut diagonally. Serve gravy over toast.
I usually serve mine with mashed potatoes, as well.
