Strawberry Donuts

Ingredients for donuts:

  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1/3 c. fresh strawberries, pureed (I used a food processor)

Ingredients for frosting:

  • 2 oz. cream cheese, room temp
  • 4 fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 2 - 2 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 425* F. Grease donut pan.

In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, butter, and strawberries. Then mix milk mixture in with dry ingredients. Mix until thoroughly combined.

Spoon batter into prepared donut pan. Bake for 8-9 minutes. Remove from pan and allow to cool.

While donuts are cooling, prepare frosting. Beat the cream cheese until fluffy. Beat in berries. Then add powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition, until you reach the consistency you desire.

Place cooled donuts on wax paper. Put frosting in a Ziploc bag, snip the corner and use to glaze donuts.
