A Day in the Lifestyle - June
Hello! And welcome to another beautiful day in our life! I'm so happy you chose to join us today!
Morning Routine: You can read my full morning routine here. Today, I started off with an 8fit workout. I've switched to using 8fit for my yoga, as well. They have multiple full-length yoga classes that I really like.
I'm also trying out this new day cream, which I like pretty well so far. It's called Real Chemistry Environmental Rescue Essential Day Cream.
Breakfast: We don't usually eat a lot of bacon, but since the boys were home for Ysa's graduation and Elie's birthday, we ate quite a bit of eggs and bacon. I also made a breakfast bruschetta to go with our eggs. Just chopped up some tomatoes and onions, added olive oil, salt, pepper, and fresh basil (from our garden!!).
Tea: This week, we've been drinking Fruit Lover's Dream White Tea, Moroccan Mint Organic Green Tea, and Sparkling Strawberry Wine Fruit Tisane. These are all from the Tea Smith. I just put in a new order for summer teas, but haven't tried them yet.
Shopping: We picked up some new wines and wine glasses last weekend. We really enjoy local wineries and try to get a glass from each one we visit.
I also got some new flip flops in honor of National Flip Flop Day on June 19th. Thanks, Target! (Fun fact - I can't get adult shoes in my size, so these are actually two sizes too big.)
Lunch: We usually eat sandwiches or leftovers for lunch. However, I made a Pasta Pepperoni Salad one day.
Snacks: I made Fruity Pebbles cookies, a chocolate chip cookie pie, and chocolate peanut butter cookies.
Drinks: I made us a wine slushy and some peach sangria.
Supper: I made Chipotle Lime Shrimp Tacos with Strawberry Salsa and Rosemary Peach Chicken in a White Wine Sauce. I also tried to make Shrimp Scampi in the Instant Pot, which exploded....so that was cool. Other than that, we had a night of Pizza Hut and a night of local takeout because we have had a crazy busy week. Elie also wanted Chinese food for her birthday, so we had a lot of takeout this week. Whoopsie.
The strawberry salsa was so good that I made a bunch of it on Saturday just to eat with tortilla chips. (I recommend the tortilla chips with a hint of lime.)
Family Time: Oh my goodness, what a week! Ysabel graduated on Saturday!
And our little Elie turned 17 on the same day!!
Earlier in the week, Dan and I visited Union Orchard Winery, Kimmel Orchard Winery, The Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail, Indian Cave State Park, the Southeast Nebraska Cancer Memorial Garden, SchillingBridge Winery, Rich Harvest Winery, Deer Springs Winery, Safe House Winery and Whispering Winds Winery.
I am really behind over on Two Blondes in the Heartland, so I haven't posted about any of these places yet, but I will! We had a great time.
Evening Routine: You can read my full evening routine here.
For evening reading, I finished Ship of Brides, Me Before You, After You, and Still Me - all by Jojo Moyes. I just started The Girl You Left Behind yesterday.
The Last Word: If you, like us, are working from home, you may be going through a lot more coffee. Here's what to do with those coffee grounds.
And if you, like us, aren't sleeping as well as you did before 2020 lost its mind, try these stretches.
And that's a wrap, my friends. Thank you so much for joining us! Have a beautiful day!
