A Day in the Lifestyle - March

Hello! And welcome to another beautiful day in our life. Today was a pretty basic Sunday around our house. Food, errands, and family time.

Morning Routine: As I've mentioned before, I don't use any cleanser on my face in the morning. I prefer to be gentle with what's left of my youth. Lately, I've been using Humprey's Organic Rose Petal Witch Hazel to tone every morning and currently, I'm following with Avette Water Flash Coconut Water Cream and Murad Renewing Eye Cream. I like the coconut water cream as a light daytime moisturizer, but not sure I'll buy it again. The witch hazel and eye cream are probably keepers. For a daytime moisturizer, I'll probably go back to the Coola Mineral Sun Silk Creme that I recommended previously.

I've also been trying to ease back into a running routine, so Bizi and I went for a two-mile run this morning.

Tea: As you know, I love tea. So much. Especially from the Tea Smith, though I have been trying to expand my horizons just a little. Dan surprised me with a Golden Gate Green Tea from San Francisco after returning from his last work trip there, so that's what we drank today. We are one of those houses that always has tea and coffee on, just in case someone stops by. Of course, it's 2020, so people rarely ever "just stop by," but old habits die hard, I guess.

Breakfast: For breakfast, we did a really simple scrambled eggs and veggie skillet. I melted a stick of butter (I always recommend using real butter) in a skillet, diced an onion and some green pepper, threw in some sliced mushrooms and sauteed until all veggies were tender. In a separate bowl, I beat a dozen eggs, mixed in some half and half, and threw that in the skillet with the veggies. After everything was done cooking, I added some salt and pepper and sprinkled feta cheese on top. Everyone loved it and there were no leftovers!

Lunch: As some of you may know, we recently obtained our foster to adopt license. This brought some changes around our house. One of them is the return of toddler lunches. Lunch today? An egg and cheese sandwich, baby carrots with hummus, and banana slices.

Shopping: It's almost spring time! I picked up this Lemon & Lavender candle to bring some spring into our house. As a native of Clay County, Nebraska, I am a fan of anything from Sugar Shack. These candles never disappoint!

Snacks: We made these yummy St. Patrick's Day Oreos.

Supper: I threw together this quick Beet & Goat Cheese Salad. Super healthy and everyone loved it!

Evening Routine: I've been using Honest Beauty Gentle Gel Cleanser to remove my makeup in the evening. I'm semi-impressed. It's not my favorite cleanser, but it's probably a close runner up.

I've also discovered Clinique Moisture Surge which is a lifesaver. If you are 35 or older, you need this. So much.

As always, I wrapped up the evening with some reading. Currently, I'm reading Spring by Ali Smith. This is the third book in her Seasonal quartet. The final book, Summer, will be out later this year. These three books, along with her novel How to Be Both are among some of the best books I have ever read. The contrast between her gentle voice and strong opinions, the way she delves deep into the human psyche without sounding contrived or overreaching, this post can't begin to do these books justice. Her work is a unique blend of beauty and genius that I can't recommend highly enough.

And that's a wrap, loves. As always, thank you for joining us as we enjoyed our beautiful day. Feel free to share any thoughts or comments below.
