Taco Salad

Taco Salad

Extra thanks to my mom for this recipe. She's the best.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 16 oz. can kidney beans
  • 1/4 c. Dorothy Lynch dressing (for those of you not in the Midwest, you can use French dressing)
  • Tortilla chips (We used Doritos this time, but usually just use regular tortilla chips)
  • cheddar cheese, shredded
  • black olives, sliced
  • tomato, chopped
  • bell pepper, chopped
  • onion, chopped
  • iceberg or romaine lettuce, shredded or chopped
  • salsa
  • sour cream
  • guacamole

Brown ground beef in large skillet. Drain and return to pan. Add taco seasoning, tomato sauce, beans and salad dressing. Cook for another 5-8 minutes.

Prepare toppings, as desired.

Place desired amount of chips on plate. Top with warm ground beef mixture. Next, add cheddar cheese. Add olives, tomato, onion, and bell pepper, as desired. Then add lettuce. Top with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole, as desired.
