A Day in the Lifestyle - May
Hello, and welcome to another beautiful day in our life. So glad you could join us today!
Morning Routine: We ran 2.25 miles and then I used this video from Sarah Beth Yoga as a cool down. It's not a new one, but it's one of my favorites.
It's a bit rainy here today, so I'm actually wearing one of my favorite cozy sweaters from Stitch Fix, and, big surprise, leggings from Pink.
I also want to mention this BADgal BANG! mascara from Benefit that I've been using. It's not my absolute favorite, but it's decent. As my daughters will tell you, one of our absolute #1 rules is to never, ever, EVER wear cheap mascara. Just don't. We are picky about our mascara around here, I guess. Anyway, this one passes the test, so you might want to try it out.
Breakfast: As you may have seen on Instagram, I made cinnamon rolls the other day, so we have been eating those and the waffles I froze earlier in the week for breakfast. The cinnamon rolls were good, especially when they were fresh from the oven, but I won't be posting the recipe. It was a recipe I found in an old cookbook, which I would have been happy to give credit, but the truth is, they aren't quite as good as our family recipe, which I will use next time and share the recipe.
This is NOT a good YouTube video. I only added it so you could see my little Instagram cinnamon roll story. Someday (hopefully soon), I will learn to make decent YouTube videos (and, according to all the kids these days, become rich and famous), but today isn't quite that day.
Tea: I made two new teas from The Tea Smith this week.
The first one was Lemon Chiffon Rooibos. (These pictures are from their website.) This was good and I would definitely buy again, but not my favorite.
The other one was Fruit Lover's Dream, which is a white tea. I prefer the lightness of white teas, so I wasn't surprised that I loved this one. It's definitely one of my favorites.
Coffee: I made two wellness lattes this week, which had no coffee in them, but I'm putting them under the coffee section because they were lattes. Just humor me.
The first one was a beetroot latte.
The other was a turmeric latte.
You know that wrinkle in my table cloth is driving me nuts. I don't know how I missed that before taking this picture. Or right when I put it on. What in the world. Anyway, the lattes were both great. I prefer the beetroot one because I love beets, while Bizi preferred the turmeric one.
Lunch: Spinach salad with tomatoes and a peach poppyseed dressing.
Project: May Baskets. You guys, I forgot May Day. I don't know how. I never forget May Day. Like, ever.
I love May Day.
But, I forgot May Day. So I had to hurry and make some last minute May Baskets. I made some popcorn, mixed in some Easter M&M's that I was supposed to make cookies with (but forgot that, too, so I'm starting to see a pattern here). Then I hurried and made chocolate chip cookies. We ended up with this.
Supper: In the last few days, we have had Peanut Stew, Crockpot Ham and Bean Soup, and, of course, we have eaten up our leftovers.
Snacks: I haven't been feeling the best, so we haven't had as many snacks as we usually do, but I am baking three new variations of Amish Friendship Bread today.
Evening Routine: After tidying up, I have relaxed with a good book. This week, I finished Windfallen and The Peacock Emporium, both by Jojo Moyes. I loved both of them. I also started Shatter by Aprilynne Pike. This is the sequel to Glitter, which I read last week. I loved both Windfallen and The Peacock Emporium. Highly recommend both of them.
And that's a wrap, folks. As always, thank you so much for joining me!
